Silicon Valley Beer Week Guidelines
Silicon Valley Beer Week is an opportunity to celebrate Silicon Valley’s vibrant craft beer culture and engage and attract new customers. Featuring businesses from Gilroy and San Jose to Los Gatos, Palo Alto and Redwood City, Newark and Fremont—the event takes place July 19–28, 2019.
1. EVENT EXECUTION Your event must take place between July 19–28, 2019 and if the event spans over multiple days, you must submit an event listing for each event you’d like to promote to Silicon Valley Beer Week followers. The event must occur as advertised on the Silicon Valley Beer Week website and program guide. If programming significantly changes and you need to update your listing after it’s been submitted, please email a representative: [email protected]
2. RESPONSIBLE PARTIES As the event host, you are solely responsible for programming your event and submitting the event listing. In accordance with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Department, Silicon Valley Beer Week staff, distributors, importers, wholesalers and manufacturers (except those holding a retail license and submitting as a retailer) cannot submit a listing for an event promoting the use of alcoholic beverages.
3. BE CREATIVE Everyone loves a good happy hour, but Silicon Valley Beer Week isn’t about run-of-the-mill discounts, it’s about quality beer and customer engagement. It’s important that your event include engaging, hands-on, unique activities with craft beer as its focal point. Some examples are: seminars, demonstrations, tap takeovers, tastings, beer and food pairings, brewmaster’s dinners, new release nights, fundraisers and special themed parties. For assistance please contact a representative: [email protected]
4. CRAFT BEER Because this event celebrates independent craft beer and will cater to those particularly enthusiastic about it, we ask that you avoid partnering with mass-produced beer brands. Instead, work with independently owned microbreweries that employ traditional techniques and produce high quality beers that will appeal to the most discerning beer aficionado.
5. IMPRESS NEW CUSTOMERS Though the event is all about the beer, it is equally important that it also be representative of your venue. Remember that your event will leave an impression with patrons, including many who may be experiencing your venue for the first time. It’s also worth noting that your event will coincide with other craft beer related events during Silicon Valley Beer Week. Engage in a little friendly competition by producing an event you feel will stand out from the rest.
6. FEES The event listing fee starts at $40 (early bird registration; $45 after June 10, 2019). In accordance with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Department, advertising and marketing for an event promoting the sale of alcoholic beverages must be purchased. Waived fees and discounts below $40 cannot be offered for event listing fees.
7. PROMOTION COMMITMENT Participating venues agree to incorporate Silicon Valley Beer Week logo and/or promotional copy in their regular promotional activities (mailing lists, on-site display, card inside menu, advertisements), as well as provide a link to the SVBeerWeek.com website.
8. USE OF NAMES AND LOGO Venue permits the use of its logo and name in connection with promotion of Silicon Valley Beer Week.
9. RELATIONSHIP OF THE PARTIES Parties are independent contractors and nothing contained herein or done pursuant to this promotion shall be construed to imply the existence of a partnership, joint venture, principal and agent, or employer and employee relationship between the parties.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY The failure of either party to perform any obligation otherwise due as a result of governmental action, laws, orders or requests, or as a result of events, such as war, acts of public enemies, strikes or other labor disturbances, fires, floods, acts of God or any causes of like or different kind beyond the reasonable control of that party is excused. IN NO EVENT WILL EITHER PARTY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES OR LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFIT, OR SAVINGS OF ANY PARTY, INCLUDING THIRD PARTIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF EITHER PARTY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING IN CONTRACT, EQUITY OR OTHERWISE (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, BREACH OF WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY IN TORT) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED ANY AMOUNTS PAID TO BOULEVARDS PROMOTIONS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT.
11. ENTIRE AGREEMENT This Agreement constitutes the entire and exclusive agreement between the parties regarding the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written agreements and understandings. This Agreement may not be modified in whole or in part except in a writing signed by a duly authorized representative of both parties.
